Discovering Africa in the Classroom

Our Discovering Africa in the Classroom program helps students learn about Africa’s many histories, cultures, traditions, arts, foods, and modern life. Through lessons that include African folktales, food tastings, conversations, storytelling, and hands-on activities, students experience authentic African perspectives and respect for diverse cultures.

One special part of the program is the use of African folktales to teach important values such as civility, leadership, integrity, and character. These stories, which come from Africa’s long oral traditions, help students think critically, show empathy, and become responsible citizens.

The program helps students see the world from a broader perspective and equips them with the skills they need to succeed in today’s connected world.

We are committed to creating real, African-centered resources that offer meaningful learning and celebrate Africa’s knowledge, heritage, and experiences.

Discovering Africa in the Classroom is available for primary and secondary schools and universities.
